The ACTFL Professional Awards program recognizes outstanding contributions to the field of language education. Since 1977, this annual program has recognized more than 350 educators, scholars, public servants, and language programs across 15 different categories.

From cutting-edge research and teacher development to using technology in the world language classroom and the intersection of language and sustainability—and far beyond!—awardees continue to drive growth and positive change throughout the profession, making a meaningful impact not only on fellow educators but also on thousands of students.

Awards also play a critical role in our ability to collectively advocate for language education across the country—generating important public awareness about the value that language educators and learners bring to their local communities every day.
