Dr. Shamita Johnson’s career spans the continents of Africa, Asia, Europe and North America. She has served as a cultural ambassador and researcher with the US Presidential Fulbright Scholar Program in Dakar, Senegal, and later managed significant international development projects with Save the Children International and Africare, Inc. In the corporate world, she excelled as an Assistant Director at Lathem Time Corporation, strengthening global partnerships in Canada and Latin America.
Currently serving as an international education consultant, Dr. Johnson is focused on enhancing global literacy and cultural competency, and in shaping the next generation of global leaders. Her role as an Education Ambassador with the Council on Foreign Relations underscores her commitment to integrating global issues into education—especially those of the United Nations' (SDGs).
