SuAnn Schroeder has more than two decades of experience in education, as a former language education teacher, school administrator, and Director for Multilingual Learning. She continues to make an impact in education, creating learning spaces that are equitable, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of all students. Additionally, she deeply believes that all students must have access to learning multiple languages and developing global competencies, to reap the countless benefits to self and others. She is bilingual in English and French, and her work in proficiency-guided instruction provides professional growth and development for educators and guides best-practices in the classroom.
She served as the President of the Wisconsin Association for Language Teachers in 2016-17 and has participated in Language Advocacy Days in Washington, D.C. to advocate for appropriations and policy regarding language learning. She was integral in the creation of the World Language Roadmap for the State of Wisconsin in 2018 and also the Wisconsin State Learning Standards for World Language and Global Education in 2019.
Her dedication to the language education workspace can be seen in the blog, Multilingual Learners Toolkit, plus the numerous articles and professional learning workshops on understanding language proficiencies, intercultural competencies, language learning supports, and globalizing content instruction. Her publications include articles in Educational Leadership and Principal Leadership.
